PCS, Inc. stands for Preston Construction Services.

Bob Preston founded the company twenty years ago, after working many years in the construction industry and owning his own construction company.  He first worked with accounting software systems for the construction industry, trying to find solutions for his own business.  He developed his first estimating system to provide a tool for himself to use, then over time other construction companies made it clear they wanted that same great tool.

Bob started selling the original WINBID system in DOS, enhancing it over several years as more and more companies in Southern California began using it.  By the late nineties most of the heavy highway construction companies in Southern California were using WINBID.

But it took a while to redesign WINBID for Windows.  It just wasn't as fast nor as efficient as DOS for a long time.  But we did start building the new system in Windows so it would combine the best of the DOS design with the new advantages available in Windows.  When the Windows database software grew fast enough, and the computer hardware also grew in speed, we released WINBID2000 for Windows.

Since the release of WINBID2000 we have continued enhancing and improving the system, and have added more optional add-on functions, including automatic uploads to many different accounting systems.

Another factor in the popularity of WINBID2000 is our commitment to high-level, personal support.  Any of our users can call and talk to directly our developers or even to Bob Preston with their questions.
